Hello, my name is Caitlin and I am a senior psychology student who will be starting my Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy in Spring of 2011. Brandon and I met in 7th grade and have been best friends ever since. We have been together since December of 2003, and will be getting married in October 2011. Together, we have three furry children, Jester and Izzy, our two Shih Tzus, and Skipperdoodle, our rotten cat-- plus my two horses that stay at my parent's house where I visit each weekend.
We purchased our first home in the summer of 2009 in Central California during the struggling economy in hopes of snagging a real steal--which we totally did.
Oh boy, here we go...
Our home, a 1735 sqft two-story corner lot, was a government seizure and foreclosure after the previous owners had used the home to house their SERIOUS marijuana farm indoors! Yes, we're talking hundreds of plants, grow lamps, mylar lining the walls, vents running throughout the house..they had it all!
When we saw the house for the first time it had been vacant for nearly three years (two of which only plants lived here!) and it was a MESS to say the least. There was disgusting carpet, holes in the walls, staples in EVERYTHING, the pool was trashed, and there was virtually no yard. We have been busting our butts and DIYing our hearts out to show the neighborhood what That House on the Corner is truly made of! With our tight "broke college student" budgets, we do nearly everything ourselves with the help of knowledgeable friends and family and we appreciate everything everyone has done to help us out.
