Erica's Bridal Shower: The Finished Project

So, as I mentioned in this post, I signed on to host a bridal shower for my soon-to-be sister-in-law, Erica.

We gathered at Brandon's parent's house where Brandon's mom, Alison, and his sisters Emily and Alize, helped set up the shower. We stayed with the red, yellow, orange, and white color scheme that will be used in the wedding and had a casual picnic feel.

Alison and the girls made an awesome lunch of cranberry chicken croissants, homemade spinach quiche, pasta salad, green salad, cabbage salad, and strawberry shortcake!

We played a few great games as well.

  • First up was a little sentimental. I passed out advice cards for the ladies to pass along their best marriage advice to Erica and the first three she read won prizes.
  • Next, we played toss the bouquet. This was a bridal version of hot-potato where we passed (and sometimes threw) a tissue paper bouquet while music played. Each time the music stopped, whoever had the bouquet was out.
  • After that, we played some bridal mad libs. I went around the table asking each person for whatever word we were looking for (noun, verb, etc.) and then I handed the finished sheet to Erica... turns out her vows were pretty funny. She may have had to read the words "I vow to be your scary stripper" haha!
  • Then, we finished up the games with dress-the-bride. In this game we split off into three teams and had 5 minutes to dress our bride with two rolls of toilet paper. Then, Erica was the judge of who had the best wedding gown.

Afterward, we finished up with gifts and thank you's and everyone went on their way! I even squeezed a workout top in with her lingerie since Erica placed second in her very first half-marathon the day before!

Overall, I think it went pretty darn well and I can't wait to host another!
