As you know, a few weeks back I snapped some engagement photos for Brandon's little brother's upcoming wedding this May that you can see here. Well, as the date rapidly approaches it donned on us that a bridal shower was in order. Typically, this job falls on the bridesmaids, but when there are miles between the bride and her maids (and gas prices over $4 a gallon!) things get tough.
So, of course, the little planner in me jumped at the idea of helping plan the shower for Erica! Naturally, with all the hustle and stress of everything else in my life right now, my stomach dropped at first thinking, "Caitlin, WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU THINKING?!" but to be perfectly honest, this doesn't feel stressful at all! In fact, it is a welcomed change from worrying about my own stuff that is going on!
So, what are we planning?!
Well, their wedding has a summery, picnic feel, so we decided to tie the shower into the theme with some bright reds, oranges, yellows. Think watermelons and lemonade. Add in some mason jars, poppies, angel food cake, and strawberries, and there it is. Winner winner, chicken dinner!
Of course, good ol' Style Me Pretty has their awesome build-a-board thingy so I was able to whip this up in no time at all... and if you ask me it's pretty spot on for our simple, sunny shower for the porch at the future in-laws home!
