Today's Finds: Old Bottles

If you remember from older posts, I wasn't always a fan of antiques. However, more and more lately I am drawn to them, and I honestly believe it has to do with the hunt.

You see, every great shopper is in it for the hunt, the deals, and the feeling of accomplishment when they find just what they were looking for at half the cost. I sometimes feel like I get more satisfaction from the money I saved than from the item itself... sometimes.

These awesome antique bottles were found with my mom one afternoon when I drove home to work at their shop (in case you wonder why I have been so M.I.A. over here!). Anyway, she wanted to swing by a tile shop to check out some ideas for our bathroom and we stopped in an antique store. Right away I started looking at my usual favorites, such as old mason jars and other glass pieces. Then I spotted one cool bottle (the one with the roses etched into the glass) and I was pretty excited. It was only $8, a rarity since most old bottles start getting pricey. Then I found a whole basket of bottles around $5 each! I was pretty darn happy at this point if you can imagine.

Then it got even better.

The best part of shopping with my mom is the fact that I'm pretty spoiled so my mom sometimes offers to pay. And, since these bottles will be incorporated into our wedding decor someday, she said she would take care of them this time.

They came to under $30 for all these bottles and I love the rustic feel they lend to our dining room table.

Which makes for one VERY happy girl-- and one goofy boy.

  1. The floral one is fantastic. I also really like the ones with their labels! Great find. I agree about the hunt though, it's the best part :)
