Hello, my name is Caitlin and my boyfriend Brandon and I purchased our first home in June of 2009. We knew we were opening a can of worms buying a 23 year old home that was foreclosed on after being used for EXTENSIVE production of marijuana. Yes, we are the proud owners of a pot farm... Our home is known by the neighborhood as "that house on the corner", particularly, that UGLY house with the ugly stripe, no grass, and no love. However, we saw a diamond in the rough when we stepped foot into our 1735 sqft home despite being worn down and out of date. Together Brandon and I knew we could turn that house on the corner into something the neighbors could envy... so we began....
We laughed as we typed up a to-do list prior to closing escrow (which we promptly tossed out the window once we got the keys) and realized this was more than just a project, this was a full scale renovation.
For starters, the interior had more problems besides just age... there were massive holes in the walls and ceiling that were used for ventilation for the marijuana plants and hooks covered the ceiling (maybe 15-20 hooks per room).... not to mention THOUSANDS of staples in walls, trim, and window seals that were used to hold up reflective paper that helped their plants grow. At least the government stepped in with a full seizure (yes, FBI and all) and shut the place down... which a year later opened a wonderful opportunity for us ;-)

Here Brandon's little sister is inside the master closet peeking through a hole into the master bath!
